August 2024

Carson invited Blake to go to the pool with him and Blake had a blast (even if the picture doesn't show it!)

We had Claire's birthday party with family and it was Elsa themed, of course! She had a special princess outfit and got all the girly things to play with!  She was so excited to turn 3!!  She still wants to be a little girl so she can be carried every where but she seems like such a big girl to me!  She is growing up too fast.  She has the best personality.  She is kind, sweet, caring, loving, smart but also bossy, silly and stubborn.  We sure love our (not so) little girl!

Grant got to go on the field of the Iowa Cubs game with his baseball team during the national anthem and stand by the players. It was a HOT game but a fun experience for Grant!

Both boys went to football camp this year and had a blast!

Blake went to a Kindergarten prep camp.  He said he had fun!  I can't believe it is almost time for him to go to Kindergarten!

Aunt Toni got Claire an Elsa dress and she loved it!  She is all girly and loves dresses.

We went to go visit my high school friend's family, Kelly, along with Erica's family.  We played in their new pool, went on a short hike to a beach, and just hung out at their house.  Kelly and I went for a run and I was surprised that I kept up with her the whole time!  It was fun to get our families together and a fun weekend!

Claire finally got her Elsa backpack for going poop in the potty!  She is getting so much better about potty training but we are still working on pooping in the potty.  She starts her new preschool after Labor Day and needs to be potty trained.  She will stay dry in underwear (for the most part) so hopefully she continues to figure out pooping also.  Greg and I will be so excited once diapers are officially gone!

Grant ended his season of baseball with his school friends and he had so much fun playing with friends! He has been practicing with Greg a lot this summer and has definitely seen a lot of improvement. Grant really enjoys baseball so I am excited to see him improve next year.

Dad went on a guys trip with friends which is a perfect time to get special popsicles for the kids.

Claire wants to wear her hair like Elsa does!  Her hair is long enough for a braid but it falls out quickly since her hair is so fine.  She loves it!

We were able to spend a day at the fair.  Greg was out of town most of the week so we weren't sure it was going to work out to go.  The kids had fun but it was BUSY!  Greg and I were over the crowds after a few hours so we did not last long but long enough to do all the main things!

Blake went to his friend, Tarren's birthday party.  The boys painted an Iowa State picture and Blake had a blast.

I watched Tyler for a day at the end of summer when there were no camps.  Grant and Tyler just get along so well.  They hung out at home and then we went bowling and played some games at Spare Time.  They had a blast!

I took all 3 kids to the zoo by myself.  I was nervous about it but the kids did great.  We were ready to go by then end and Blake was nervous for the train but we did it.  I was proud of myself and the fact that we made it without any huge issues.

We had meet the teacher night and the boys got see their classroom and put school supplies away.  Grant is so excited and Blake is nervous but he will love it once he gets there!

Claire got her first hair cut!  Greg wasn't ready for it but the ends needed it. Especially after swimming all summer long.  She was SOOO excited.  She wanted a unicorn hair cut.  She looks so much older after her haircut even though they only cut an inch or so off.  She is such a sweet and goofy girl!

I can't believe summer is over already and it is time for school.  I am excited for the boys but also so sad our summer together is over.  Grant is going into 2nd grade and Blake is starting Kindergarten!  I am nervous about Blake going to full day Kindergarten since he is still taking daily naps.  It is going to be a big adjustment for him.  Grant is so excited to go to school and see his friends again.

We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary!  We sent the boys to Parents night out at Lifetime, had Grandma hang out with Claire so we could have a few hours away.  We went to Flemings and it was delicious but expensive!  Greg and I do not feel like it has been 9 years already.  It has gone by so fast.  We are hoping next year we are celebrating kids free on a beach somewhere.

Claire went to go play with our neighbor Carly.  Claire loves playing with Carly and I hope they stay friends as they grow up!

Grant is on Hive Pack Hoops and it has been a frustrating season for the team. It was fun to watch Grant score a free throw though. He was so proud of himself!

I tried to make cinnamon sugar sourdough bread and it still didn't turn out like I thought. The kids still wouldn't eat it which was my goal. AND it was a lot of work. So fail on that part but hoping to try bagels next and I have heard they are easier and better.
