Third Month
We started off this month watching Kailey play basketball. Grant enjoyed watching all the girls play. He is starting to become more awake and observant which is fun to watch!

We went to Grant’s 2 month doctor appointment shortly after his 2 month birthday. Only our second time at the doctor which is hard to believe. He got his first set of shots and wasn’t too happy. Poor guy-he had no idea what was coming. He was in the 60% for head circumference, weight and height. We were happy with those numbers.

We thought it would be fun to go with Greg on a work trip to Topeka while I was still on maternity leave. Boy were we wrong! Grant did not adapt well to a new environment. He was a scared boy, so Grant and I were awake all night. Luckily, Greg was able to sleep through our noise and still had a successful presentation.

I went back to work on February 7th. It was hard to leave my little Grant, but I was ready to have adult interactions and feel like a productive person. It was easier going back knowing my parents were watching him. My dad is the main caretaker for Grant the first two months. He has been an awesome caregiver. My dad enjoys it just as much as we love having him watch Grant. Plus, an added bonus was no daycare until after flu season!
The Severson’s brought us a delicious meal for lunch one Saturday which we enjoyed while watching Iowa State Cyclones pull a victory. Homemade lasagne, salad, garlic bread and creme brulee. YUMMMM!
We went to get Grant’s 3 month pictures in Ames on Valentines Day. Grant’s pictures turned out awesome, showing his cute personality. He was a little confused having us and a camera in his face but our photographer was able to capture great photos! Greg and I were able to celebrate an impromptu Valentine’s Day at Hickory Park. Another delicious meal!

We were able to make it to Nate and Alyssa’s house to celebrate the super bowl. Grant was all decked out in his football onsie. We had to leave before the huge last minute unexpected finish. It was so fun to get out and see some friends!

Mom and Dad are so in love with our little boy. We are so blessed and lucky for such a great baby.

He ended this month at 15 lbs 10 ounces. Again, what a chunk. He is getting so much more fun and we can’t get enough of him. We love all his smiles.
