The Young's Blog
Grant has been home with me since the beginning of summer so far and so he has been helping me clean. Here is a picture of his type A shoe organizing he did for me.
I took the boys bowling one day and it wasn't a fun experience. Blake was hangry so he was having a meltdown during bowling. Luckily, Greg had planned to meet us on his lunch break so I was able to take Blake home while Greg stayed to let Grant finish his game. Next time I will make sure Blake is well fed before going bowling. :)
Claire has been telling us "NO NO" and she thinks it's funny. So she will say "NO NO" and start laughing. We have great control of our kids as you can tell.
We got invited to Dream Night for Blakey again this year at the Blake Park Zoo. The kids had fun and enjoyed all the free stuffies and activities.
Claire learned how to do a frustrated face from Ms. Rachel. It is the cutest, funniest face ever. We all laugh when we see it and she loves doing the face.
I took Grant mini golfing one of the days he was home with me. He loved it! He is loving golf and he loves to go with me because he wins. ;-). I hope he continues to love golf and Greg really hopes he does too.
Claire is a little fish in the water. She loves swimming and jumping in. She was a little nervous of the fountains at our pool the first time we went but now she loves them and has no fear in the pool.
We put a new sand box under our play set and the kids all love it. It is nice and big so everyone can sit in it and it is covered most of the time from the sun.
Blake finished soccer this month. He has fun playing but didn't like it being so hot. He is good and soccer and aggressive to the ball. He scored 2 goals this season! He is signed up for VSA this next season but we will see if he continues to like soccer or something else.
Grant lost another tooth! It was very wiggly for a few weeks and finally came out when we were driving. He has lost 6 teeth so far.
We had our neighbors, the Ertz's, over one night to play in our bounce houses. The kids destroyed our house and Got out almost every single toy, but at least they were entertained so we could talk to Ashley and Mike. The girls loved playing with the dolls and sitting at the doll table. It was so cute to watch.
Claire fell asleep eating lunch on Saturday. We wore her out at the parks in the morning.
We took the kids to the Omaha zoo for Father's Day. We were going to take them Saturday but it rained in Omaha. So we decided to go on Father's Day and I think Greg will change what he wants to do on Father's Day next year. Surprisingly, Claire was the best behaved at the zoo. It was a really cool zoo with lots of animals and it has changed quite a bit since I was last there. The kids favorite thing was the train ride.
My Aunt Connie and Uncle Eric stopped over when they were in town and took this sweet picture of my kids. My kids were less than angels that afternoon but it was nice to talk to them for a short while.
Greg got out his Dad's boat and took it for a ride with his friend Josh, Josh's son and Grant. Grant loved it and even caught a few fish.
I caught a cute (rare) moment of the boys sitting together on the couch watching a show together without fighting.
Grandma came over to watch the kids while Greg and I painted her new townhouse and I came home to this cute sight of the boys cuddling with her.
The kids were all playing soccer and kicking the soccer ball between their legs. Claire wants to be just like her brothers and loves playing soccer like them.
Claire has learned so much from Ms. Rachel and loves all the songs she does on her show. She is so cute when she does the hand motions and sings the songs with her. Grant was being a great big brother and playing with her and singing songs with her one morning.
The boys have been wanting to make caterpillars from egg cartons and we made them one rainy stay at home day. It was a fun activity for all ages that day. We still need to let them dry and then we will put the eyes and antennas on them.
One morning the boys gathered up all of their magnatiles in the house and we made the biggest tower we could. It almost reached the ceiling!
