10th Month of Claire

May 1-31

The boys have started to have more (short) moments of playing well together without fighting.  Greg and I will take it!

Grant's favorite sports right now are football and basketball.  He had his first season on football with i9 and was nervous the first game  since this is the first sport he did not have a daycare buddy on the team with him. He scored a touchdown so that helped his spirits!

Claire is pulling herself up and is wants to be a big girl SO bad.  She wants to keep up and be just like her brothers! In this picture you can see the cyst above her eye well.  We are waiting for the appointment with Plastic Surgery to get that removed.

I gave Claire yogurt and her mouth got red after eating it.  I wasn't sure if it was a dairy allergy or just irritated skin.  She had her allergy appointment this month and we know for sure it is not a dairy allergy. Doctor was not 100% sure about the eggs so we had to get a blood draw.  Greg took her and that was not fun but we are pretty confident there is not an egg allergy so it will be nice to have confirmation so we are not worried.  Her test result came back negative and we gave her eggs a few times.  She loves them and no rashes!

We celebrated Mother's Day and Greg had the boys tell him 5 things they loved about me and put them in eggs so I had to do an Easter egg hunt Sunday morning.  It was super sweet and one of my favorite things so far.  Greg said they thought of the reasons all on their own.  I had a little help with the hunt ;). Earlier in the week at daycare, Grant made me a bunch of drawings of him and I with a heart in between us.  Greg brought them home and was supposed to hide them until Mothers Day but I found them and Grant got really upset I saw them before Mothers Day.  Although the surprise was ruined,  it was super sweet and made my day that Grant made me special Mother's Day pictures all on his own at daycare.

Claire is not a snuggler so we take all the snuggles we can get!  We have to walk and sing to her to get her to sleep.  She hate rocking in the chair with us.  Greg and I love snuggles so this makes us sad.  We have had a rough go of sleeping with Claire at the beginning of this month.  She has been waking up a few hours after we put her to bed hysterical and we are unable to calm her down.  We have no idea what is causing it but think it could possibly be teeth? We took her to the doctor and it wasn't ears.  We are hoping it gets better because we are tired!

Blake has been doing really well.  I am hesitant to write this because every time I do he has another seizure or the medicine stops working.  We finally got him off Keppra this month and we are so happy!  He seems like a happier kid as well.  One night when I was putting him to bed he says "Mom I am really happy."  That just made my heart melt.  It is so hard to give Blake these medicines that wreck  havoc on his body so it makes my day he can tell me that.  These seizures have taken a lot from us (and we are very lucky compared to others) but if my son is happy and developing on track, it makes this a tiny bit better.

Claire has starting sitting up and trying to pull herself up in the crib.  So it is officially time to lower the crib.  I took this picture from our monitor on her sitting up and staring at the door waiting for me to come in in the morning.  SO cute.

Blake is in Happyfeet soccer this summer.  He is getting warmed up to the idea of soccer (he doesn't like people stealing his ball-rightfully so!) but enjoys the warm ups!

Grant is playing spring T-ball with a bunch of his daycare friends.  His friends all love to race each other at school so they start each racing with the racing stance.  Grant had to get in the stance to run home during T-ball! Greg is the coach with 5 other dads from daycare.  Even though it isn't Greg or I's favorite sport, it is fun to watch them all play together!

Grant was a twin with Lenny at school one day and was so excited!

Claire has been pulling herself up to the couch! She has even started taking a step or two while holding on to the couch.  She is a determined little girl and is constantly working on mastering this new skill! We are thinking walking is not too far away.

Claire loves her brothers and any attention she gets from them!  If they are in the room she is always looking for them to see what they are doing.  Here is a video of them playing with her and she loves it.  We missed the best giggles but she was just giggling continuously before this.

Grant wanted some alone time with Mom since Blake was getting so much attention with potty training.  We made a ramp out of magnatiles and Grant loved it.

I took a few days off of work to take Blake to get an overnight EEG.  We ended up canceling and will reschedule due to insurance but I kept the days off to potty train Blake.  It was a beautiful week so Claire and I enjoyed some outside time while Blake was napping!

Claire was so cute and starting raising her arms in excitement after I passed the ball to her.  She made the cutest face an so I had to get it on camera!

One of the moms in Grant's class threw a party for his class.  It was fun to talk with all the parents and ended up being a beautiful day for a party.

We had Grant's preschool graduation this month.  Grant was SO excited to graduate.  It was a super cute graduation and the kids did a great job.  Grandma and Nana/Papa came to watch the celebration.  His favorite song they sang was "One Small Voice" and they did sign language to the song.  He loves showing us sign language at home.  And, of course, he was the last one off the stage to graduate with having a last name of "Young" but he got the loudest cheer being the last one!

After the graduation we celebrated with Grant at Bravo.  He wanted to go there to have his new favorite food-buttered noodles.  Grandma got him a big cookie and ballon to celebrate and Nana/Papa gave him some books!

We have been potty training Blake this past few weeks. It has definitely been a roller coaster of a job.  He is finally starting to figure it out and will tell us when he has to go potty.  We are still working on daycare and pooping but he does a great job at home.  He will even stay dry most of the time during nap. We are so happy to be done with diapers for another kid!

Grant wanted Uncle Mit to come over on his birthday so we could celebrate!  Grant was so excited to get him a football as a gift.  The boys had a blast playing with Uncle Mit!

We didn't have much planned over Memorial Day weekend but the weather was beautiful so we spent most of the time outside.  We got a splash pad and the boys loved playing in it!  Claire isn't too sure about the cold water and I don't blame her!  Nana and Papa watched the kids for a few hours so we could go out to dinner and visit some of my friends for Steph's birthday.  It was nice to get away kid-free for two hours and I don't think Nana and Papa minded the cuddles.  We went to Cutty's to visit Auntie Kellie, Uncle Brian and cousins and our kids had a blast.  Greg's mom came down for the day so it was fun to see the whole family.

Uncle Peter gave all the kids a sloth stuffed animal from Costa Rica and Grant loves his.  Grant calls it his stuffy. He sleeps with it every night and says it keeps him safe.

Claire has learned so many new things this month and it is fun to watch her grow.  She is so curious, always wants to be in the action (which drives her brothers crazy), is generally always happy and smiling.  She is very persistent and not upset about being pushed out of the way.  She will go right back until she gets what she wants.  She is going to have to be this determined with two other brothers around.  She weighs 21 pounds and loves table food.  She is so ready to be a big girl!

Grant is on Hive Pack Hoops and it has been a frustrating season for the team. It was fun to watch Grant score a free throw though. He was so proud of himself!

I tried to make cinnamon sugar sourdough bread and it still didn't turn out like I thought. The kids still wouldn't eat it which was my goal. AND it was a lot of work. So fail on that part but hoping to try bagels next and I have heard they are easier and better.
