April 2024

We have been cheering on the Iowa women's NCAA tournament!  It has been so fun to watch.  I am more invested in them than I would like to admit.  So Claire has to put on her Iowa cheerleading outfit and get out her pom poms to cheer on the team!

Claire doesn't like her hair in her face but also does not like me to do her hair so we put it up in a princess hair do and she loves it!  It never fails that after I put it up she immediately  asks for me to take a picture so she can see her princess hair.

Claire came home from daycare one day and fell asleep on me.  She has never done that before.  I am not sure if she didn't nap at school or was just overtired or sick.  I let her sleep on me for about an hour and woke her up. I was worried she wouldn't go to sleep that night but she still did!

Nana came with us to the zoo!  The kids loved it and the animals were more lively than I have seen them before.  It was fun to actually see the tigers moving!  It was a perfect day for the zoo and the kids were exhausted once we were done.

Grant went to his friend, Finlay's, birthday party.  They had a painting party and Grant had a lot of fun!

Such a sweet moment!  Claire will request to watch Ms. Rachel and Ms. Rachel got the boys up and dancing to a song.

It is Blakes last day of medicine!  I never thought this day would come!  We are so happy to be at this point and are anxious to see what the EEG shows in 10 days.  We have seen such a huge improvement weaning the medicine.  He is more silly and less hyperactive. Just more of a little boy and Greg and I love seeing it.  We hope and pray the EEG is good so he can stay off meds.

Clarie wanted to do a happy dance just like her brother and then she got camera shy!

We went to Grant's first grade music concert.  It was so fun to watch.  Grant was very into it and the show was very cute.  Aunt Kellie and Grandma came to watch also.  Kailey watcht the other two and they had the best time.

Greg and I had a special day with Blake for his first day off medicine!  It is such a big, special day and we wanted to celebrate Blake and all he has overcome!  He has been such a trooper and we wouldn't be here if he wasn't so great at all the things we asked him to do.  He is truly a special little boy.

We went to the epilepsy walk and actually made it to the right day this time. ;)  It was a good turn out and it felt good to support Blake and others going through similar or even worse experiences than us.

We have both the boys in soccer and baseball right now.  It has been a lot but the boys are loving both sports.  I got a video of Blake scoring a goal but missed Grant's goals this season.  Blake has a blast playing and Grant has improved so much over the season.  It has been fun to watch.

Nana and Papa watched Claire and Grant while we went to Iowa City.  Papa and Grant were outside practicing baseball in our backyard.

We went to Iowa City for another EEG off medication.  We went the night before because the EEG started at 8:00 and he had to be sleep deprived.  We ran over a tarp on our way there but made it safely.  We will just need to get it fixed when we get back. We went early to get his labs drawn and then his EEG was only an hour.  He did amazing for his poke and I was so amazed at how well he did on his EEG.  We did not realize he would be in a quite dark room for the hour.  They hooked him up and he sat quietly and watched TV.  Then they turned out the lights and he went right to sleep and slept the whole time.  We were so proud of him!!  We got the call from the neurologist that his seizures were still gone and we were ecstatic!  We can't believe this day has finally come!  The first 6 months are when the seizures are most likely to come back so we are hopping they stay away.  We are so happy that Blake can finally be a "normal" little boy.

Grant is on Hive Pack Hoops and it has been a frustrating season for the team. It was fun to watch Grant score a free throw though. He was so proud of himself!

I caught Claire playing in with the hot wheels cars while playing in her brother's Captain America mask. So cute!

I tried to make cinnamon sugar sourdough bread and it still didn't turn out like I thought. The kids still wouldn't eat it which was my goal. AND it was a lot of work. So fail on that part but hoping to try bagels next and I have heard they are easier and better.

Carson invited Blake to go to the pool with him and Blake had a blast (even if the picture doesn't show it!)
